Valentines Heart Sign

I am smitten with this cute craft that I saw while browsing the internet the other day.  I fell in love with it and decided I need to make one of my very own.  I love how it turned out and can’t wait to share with you how to make it today.  It’s a rather inexpensive project and just the thing you need to add to your decor for Valentines Day.  Here is how to complete the project.

What You Will Need to Buy:

2 Posterboard(white & red)

Decorative Wrapping Paper or Scrapbook Paper

Hot Glue

Glue Dots

Ribbon

Die Cutting Machine

Heart & Circle Die Cuts

To Make:

To begin the project, you will first need to take your White poster board paper.  Cut it down to the size you would like.  I cut mine so it was into thirds.  I actually made 3 of these cut signs so that I could keep one for myself and give two away to my friends.

After you have your poster board cut down to size it’s time to add your layer of wrapping paper/scrapbook paper.  If you are making a smaller size poster you could use scrapbook paper for this step, I wanted a larger sign so I used some of my decorative wrapping paper and cut it into the shape of a tag like shown in the picture above.

Then, take your Red poster board paper and cut it into the same shape as the wrapping paper tag, make it so that it is ½” bigger so that it creates a border around the outside of your decorative tag.  If you get confused on this step you can just view the picture above.

Use your glue dots to attach the two tags together & then attach them to the White posterboard.

Next, use your die cutting machine to cut out three circles and three hearts.  I used a die cut set that I got from https://www.craftdirect.com/embossing/die-cuts.html to complete this step.  You can make each die cut whatever size you would like.  Just make sure that they fit the size of your poster correctly.

While your die cutting machine is cutting out your shapes you can add your ribbon.  Measure out how long it is from the top of your poster to the bottom of your tag and cut your ribbon.  I cut my ribbon so that it matched the ends of the tags but you can do whatever you want.  You can either attach the ribbon with glue dots or a hot glue gun.

Next, once your die cuts are cut out you will then attach them to the front of your tags and ribbon.  I used a ruler to make sure my die cuts were evenly spaced between each other.  Use your glue dots to really make them pop.

Lastly,  Tie a cute bow and attach it to the top of your poster with your hot glue.

Once you have completed that last step you are done & ready to display your picture.  l

This picture is extremely easy to make and in many cases can be used with items you already have around the house.

Have fun with this project & be sure to send me how yours turns out.  I always love to see them!!
