The Proper Settings for Your Cricut

The Proper Settings for Your Cricut

There is nothing more important when cutting with your Cricut machine than the settings.  The settings can make or break your cut.  They are so important to follow correctly and are very simple to adjust.

Not long ago I found myself getting very frustrated with my Cricut machine.  I felt like none of my cuts were coming out right and was ready to toss it into the wall.  It wasn't until I discovered that my settings were all wrong that I finally started to have perfect cuts again.

Having the right settings on your Cricut machine is key to perfect cuts every time.  Adjusting & tweaking your Cricut before each use only takes a few minutes of your time but can seriously make all the difference.

Did you know that Vinyl paper cuts much differently than cardstock?  When you switch up the type of material that you are cutting in your machine you also need to switch up your settings.  Nothing is worse than having an expensive piece of paper ruined because your settings weren't adjusted right.

Two of the most important settings to check every time are the depth of the blade and the pressure speed.  The chart I posted above will tell you exactly what settings you need to put these at depending on the type of material you are cutting.

Another important thing to remember when cutting with your Cricut is that patience is key.  If you want a perfect cut it's better to slow the speed of your machine down.  I'm a totally impatient person and a few times I have found myself speeding up my Cricut speed to have it cut quicker.  Many of the times that I have done this my cut comes out uneven or not even cut right at all.  It's always best to go slower.  It's like that saying, slow & steady wins the race.

One last important tip to check on your Cricut machine is where the blade housing numbers are located.  You want to make sure that your blade housing number that you have selected is square on facing you.  If it is even to the side just a little bit, it can totally change the way your cut comes out.  You should also check the chart above before beginning any cuts to make sure that your blade housing is set to the right number.

When it comes to cutting with your Cricut having the right settings are definitely key.  When I purchased my Cricut at https://www.craftdirect.com/machines.html they were really good to help me with any questions I had about my machine.  This helped me understand just how important the right settings really are and helped me achieve perfect cuts every time.  If you want to discover all the amazing things you can do with your Cricut machine while reaching perfection you really need to begin adjusting your settings properly today.  Doing so will not only give you perfect cuts every time, but will also help your projects to turn out a lot better.
