Mothers Day Gift Idea

With Mother's Day approaching, it’s time to get to work creating a present for your mom that will show her how much you care.  This year after wracking my brain  I finally came up with an idea that I think both my mother & mother in law will like.   I’m going to fill this jar with flowers & give it to them on their special day.  Here is what you need to do to create a jar of your very own.

Items Needed:

  • Old Glass Canning Jar
  • Lace
  • Ribbon
  • Embellishments
  • Hot Glue
  • Flower

To Create:

The first thing you will need to do is take out your glass jar and wash it.  If you are like me, all your old canning jars are in the pantry with lots of dust from not being used in years.

Once your jar is washed and properly dried, take out your lace and cut it down to size.  To measure your lace before cutting take it and wrap it around your jar.  Keep track of where the ends meet and place a pin there so you know where to cut it.

Once you have cut your lace out, attach it to your jar with some hot glue at the top & underneath the jar on the bottom.  That will hold the fabric in place all over your jar.

Next, take your ribbon and tie it around the top of your jar to cover up the hot glue that you just applied.

Then,  add any embellishments you would like, pearls, gems, etc.  This will help give your jar a more vintage look.

As the finishing touch add a flower to the front of your jar with some hot glue & tie your bow.

You will love the way this jar turns out.  Not only is it very classy, but your mother will love all the unique ways she can use this jar throughout the year.
