How to Make Wrapping Paper with Minc Foil

I cannot tell you how much I love Minc Foil.  I didn’t realize just how much you can create with it until I really began using it.  There are so many great projects you can create using this unique foil.  While browsing Heidi Swapp’s site recently I came across some super cute wrapping paper that she made with this foil.  I thought it would be fun to share with you today how to create some of your very own Minc Foil wrapping paper for weddings, showers & birthdays.  Not only will your friends and family love this unique paper, but it will be a hit at the party.  Here is how you can make some of your very own today.

To begin, I wanted to first give you a simple description of what Minc Foil actually is and how it works.  Many people try and stay away from using this foil because they don’t fully understand what it is and how easy it is to use.  If they knew the truth, it would be a product they kept fully stocked in their craft closet.

Minc Foil is a type of craft foil that can be turned into a beautiful design using a Minc Foil applicator.  To create the design all you have to do is find a favorite image on your computer, print it off on a laser printer & then run your foil through the applicator with your laser printer image.  Your foil will then turn into a beautiful work of art which can be attached to paper, glass, cardstock, etc.

Now that you know a little about Minc Foil it’s time to get busy making some cute wrapping paper for any gift you might be needing.

Items Needed:

  • White Wrapping Paper(Packaging Paper)
  • Gold Embellishments
  • Polka Dot Printed Design
  • Minc Foil
  • Minc Foil Applicator

To Create:

To begin, take your computer and find a polka dot design to print off.  Then run your polka dot design through the applicator with your favorite color of foil to get your polka dots.  If you don’t have an applicator to create Minc designs, I’ve found that https://www.craftdirect.com/heidi-swapp/minc/foil.html has a great deal on Minc Foil applicators & accessories.

Next, wrap your present up using your white packaging paper.  You can either use packaging paper or wrapping paper for this step.  I’ve just found that it’s much cheaper to buy a huge bolt of white packaging paper that will last for what seems like forever. But you can really do whatever you would like to.

Once your present is all wrapped up,  attach your Minc Foil polka dots and your gold embellishments that you have.  Then add a bow & a cute tag which can also be made using your Minc applicator.

This present looks like it would be very expensive to buy the wrapping paper and accessories for, but when you use your applicator and some Minc it’s actually a rather inexpensive gift.  By following my simple tips above, you too can create beautiful presents for your friends and family.
