How to Make Glitter Pumpkins

I’m sure as you have been driving around you have seen trendy decorative pumpkins on porches everywhere.  They are extremely cute and are actually rather easy to make.  Today I’m going to teach you how to make glitter pumpkins for your front porch so that you won’t feel left out.

What You’ll Need:

  • Pumpkins
  • Glitter(Any Color You Would Like)
  • Mod Podge
  • Scrap Newspaper

Once you have all the items needed you can begin making your pumpkins.  The first step is to wash and dry them really good.  This will keep from gunk getting stuck in your sponge as you paint.

Next, get out your Mod Podge and a sponge brush.  Carefully apply the glue in a thin layer one section at a time.

As you paint each section with Mod Podge, carefully apply your glitter to your pumpkin in the area covered in glue before it dries.  Be sure that you have newspaper underneath your pumpkin for this step.

Contine to Mod Podge and glitter all the way around your pumpkin until you reach the end.  Once at the end, let your pumpkin dry for atleast 6 hours before placing it outside.

Once dry you can add any embellishments or ribbon that you would like.

Then you are ready to place your pumpkin outside for all to see.

These pumpkins were a lot of fun to make.  We made them for a craft party and I made 3 in less than an hour.  They are just the thing you need to jazz up your front pourch for the holidays.
