How to Make a Cute It's a Boy Card

As many of you know I love to create cards.  There is nothing more rewarding than when you see an idea you had in your head play out on paper.  One of my most recent projects I got from an idea I found online.  I loved the scalloped edges on this card & the simplicity of it.  Today I have put together a tutorial on how to put this unique card together.

What You Need:

How to Make the Card:

Making this card is very simple and only requires a few crucial steps.  The first thing you will want to do is take your 8.5”x11” piece of white cardstock and cut it in half horizontally when your paper is long side up.

You should then be able to fold your cardstock in half so that it is in the shape of a blank card.  If your card doesn’t fold in half to the proper size you cut your cardstock wrong and will have to try again.

Next, take your ocean scrapbooking paper and cut it down to size.  Cut it so that it is  2 inches tall and 5.5” wide.  Use your glue stick to attach your cut ocean scrapbooking paper piece onto the middle of your blank card.

After that is done, take your We R Memory Keepers Mini 8 Punch and create a border around your ocean paper.  You do this by punching out 2 tiny strips with punches all the way around the strips on both sides.  Then attach your tiny strips to your card so that they are bordering the ocean paper.  If you get confused on this step just look at the picture above.

Next, use your We R Memory Keepers Mini 8 punch again to create a background border for your boat die cut to be placed on.  Take your Red cardstock and cut it into a tiny square that is 2”x2”.  After, take your Mini 8 punch and punch a border all the way around.  Then use your glue stick to attach your Red border in the middle of your card, on top of the ocean scrapbooking paper.

Once you have your red border attached, on a white square of cardstock  just a little smaller than the Red, attach your boat die cut & then attach the white cardstock directly onto the Red cardstock border so that it is centered perfectly.

Lastly,  add your “It’s a Boy” stamp & any embellishments you would like!!

This card is so simple to make and really doesn’t take much time at all!  I hope you enjoyed this tutorial today, let me know if you have any questions!!
