Embossed Thank You Banner

Lately I have been obsessed with my Sizzix Big Shot Machine.  I love to emboss and love the unique look that it gives to my crafts.  My latest design was an embossed Thankyou Banner.  I found a banner similar to it while looking for ideas for my sisters bridal shower.  I love how this one turned out & can’t wait to make some more like it.  With fall coming up I may even create an embossed fall banner similar to this one but with fall designs.  Watch for future tutorials to see what I come up with.

How to Make the Banner

Before you can start putting your sign together you will need to take your cardstock paper that you will be using for the background & emboss them   You can probably fit 2 letters on each piece of cardstock, meaning you will only need to emboss 4 pieces of cardstock instead of 8.

If you don’t have a Sizzix Big Shot Machine you should definitely find one.  This is my go to machine whenever I am creating a new craft project.  I found mine at https://www.craftdirect.com/sizzix/sizzix-machines/big-shot.html and have really gotten my moneys worth out of it.

Once your cardstock has been embossed you can cut it down to size depending on how big you want your letters and sign.

Next, take your big shot machine and cut out the letters THANKYOU.  You can cut them out in whatever font style you have.

Next, Take your THANK YOU letters and with a glue stick or glue dots attach them to your embossed pieces of background like shown in the picture above.

After you have each letter attached to an embossed background you will need to place two holes at the top of each letter shape.  This is what you will use to attach the sign together.

Once your holes are created weave your ribbon in and out of each hole to attach the sign together.  If you don’t want to create holes you can also string your ribbon & attach each letter with a decorative clothespin.  Both ways are easy and work great.

After you have your sign strung with ribbon you are ready to attach it to the wall.  Be sure to center it where you position it as it could look funny if you don’t.

Once your sign is hung you are done & can enjoy a job well done!

Making this sign should be an easy project, but if for some reason you are having problems feel free to shoot me an email or ask a question.  I would also love to see how your signs turned out & how you made them your own!  Have fun!!
