DIY Stacked Pumpkins

Fall is the best time of the year to get crafty.  Not only are the fall and winter decorations extremely cute, but it’s also a time of year when you have a little more time to sit down and craft with the kids back in school.

This past week I set up all of my fall decorations.  There was a section on my entertainment center where something was missing.  These stacked pumpkins were just the thing I needed to fill in that empty hole.  They were fun to make & the supplies were really inexpensive.  Heres how you can create some for your home.

Materials Needed:

2x4 wood cut into the following measurements:  Two 4”, Three 5”, & Two 6”.(If you want your pumpkins to be bigger or smaller you can cut your own measurements.

Orange Craft Paint

Paint Brush

Glaze(Optional)

Ribbon

Embellishments

Sander

Hot Glue Gun

Making the Pumpkins:

Step 1:  Take your cut up pieces of 2x4 and sand them.  This step is much easier if you use an electric sander.  Continue to sand until each piece is completely smooth to touch.

Step 2:  Take your orange paint and paint each piece of wood.  Let your paint completely dry before adding another coat.

Step 3:  After your paint is completely dry you can use an old rag to rub on a dark brown glaze to give your pumpkins a more vintage look.

Step 4:  After you have applied your glaze use your hot glue gun to attach the orange pieces together into the shape of a pumpkin.  You can attach them together like the example above or create your own.

Step 5:  Attach your ribbon & embellishments.

These pumpkins are seriously so cute.  I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on them since I placed them on my entertainment center.  They would be the perfect addition to your home & are a lot of fun to create at craft night with your friends.
